Hello! So here we are – my first post on my new blog. I thought I’d kick things off with a few snaps I recently took.
Because Mondays can be hard enough as it is without having to read anything too in-depth.
I’ll save my more thought provoking posts for another day. For now, it’s just flowers.
I found these blooms in Toowoomba’s Queens Park. Toowoomba – having just hosted the annual Carnival of Flowers – isn’t called the Garden City for nothing
I got up rather early to take these snaps. Which was no easy feat. But walking amongst this sea of flowers full of vibrant colours made it all worth it.
Something these photos don’t convey is the quiet and stillness that filled these gardens first thing in the morning.
Punctuated only by the sounds of a jogger on his morning run.
I have to say, when I first spotted the jogger in my viewfinder, I felt a twinge of guilt that I wasn’t doing some sort of exercise myself.
But that twinge of guilt disappeared as rapidly as it had came. I mean, if given a choice between puffing and panting and sweating – to say, picking up my camera and exploring some of nature’s gems – it’s really a no brainer for me.
Not that an actual runner would agree with that. If you talk to a person who runs, they will swear black and blue about the joys and merits of running.
Each to their own, I guess. At least runners can boast of good cardio strength. Photography on the other hand, doesn’t do much for the cardio.
Although if you were a wildlife or war photographer, I’m sure it might be a different story…
All I can say is that I was glad I had my camera in stow when I walked past these!
